EES Secondary School Students Visit Helsinki
A group of mixed S2 and S4 pupils
from EES are currently visiting the European School of Helsinki to find out how
being part of the 2-year Comenius project has impacted on life at the
school. Whist there, they have been asked them to prepare a 5 minute
presentation on the European Schools of Helsinki Strasbourg Helsinki Strasbourg
1. details of the ecological activity in
the school and how Helsinki
2. information about teaching and
learning, and school life.
3. ideas for ways in which the two
schools could continue to communicate in the future.

We held our Fashion Show last Friday, involving all students from Maternelle to Lycee who had created their outfits or hats solely from recycled materials. We plan to exhibit a lot of the outfits and the rubbish monster during out Comenius exhibition.

Jeux Comenius
Pendant une semaine, les élèves de la classe P2FR ont découvert les jeux réalisés pour le projet Comenius.
Chaque jour, ils ont pris beaucoup de plaisir à jouer avec les jeux fabriqués par leurs camarades.

Still Playing Those Games at EES

Michael (Mike) Anderson
Our character is called Micheal (Mike) Anderson.
He's a teenage boy and he likes skateboarding, playing basketball and biking. He's won two skateboard competitions and plays basketball in a club. He also likes going to the park with his friends.
His favourite items are books – he's quite a bookworm -, his skateboard, and PSP. He has a cat called Dandelion and a dog called Scraps.
He loves pizza, pasta and American bagels. He has two older sisters called Abby and Meg and one smaller brother called Jimmy. He plays the drums and his favorite music is rock.
Michael comes from Switzerland and speaks English, French and Spanish. He comes to school on his skateboard. He was born on the 1st of November.
His favorite subjects are P.E and Music because he plays the drums and basketball, but he can't decide which one will be his profession. His best friend is called Andrew.
His Apperance
He has light brown hair and blue eyes and a sallow complexion. He's fond of wearing his white Puma t-shirt and jeans, and usually wears trainers as he's quite active and likes being comfortable.
He is generally quite content with his lot in life. He's trustworthy, friendly and open-minded. However, he does tend to lose his temper a little when he becomes frustrated which gets him into hot water sometimes.
The children in the French and German sections also created characters that were well thought through with deep family stories. Unfortunately, they were not chosen to be used in the Comenius production. However, they will be brought to life and used in drama lessons within EES.

C'est un très gentil garçon, amical et drôle, mais parfois impulsif et mauvais perdant, mais il s'est bien intégré dans notre classe. Il a les yeux verts, cheveux bruns un peu bouclés, et une peau matte. Il a un beau sourire et de belles dents. Il mesure 1,72m pour 64 kilos. Julio est apprécié par les filles car il est beau garçon. Pedagogical Garden
The MS class went to visit the "pedagogical garden" that the CE1's planted in May-June. The flowers were stunning, but they also came back with some carrots, radishes and runner beans!!! (not quite enough for the soup we made, but we put them in it even so).

The Flying Squirrel called Lilly

Home: 3-8 homes, my favourite is a nest in aspen or a spruce. Sometimes I live in parks or buildings too!
Special skills: I know how to move quietly during night. Also, I can fly even 40 metres!
Difficulties: I must admit that I’m a bit clumsy at moving on the ground!
Worried about animas in danger (and endangered!)
Whenever she sees an animal in danger she flies to rescue him
Unfortunately, although Lilly means well...she often is the one getting into trouble like in this newspaper article in Helsingin Sanomat...
